Public Relations Plan
Two Media Exposure Ideas
1. Stage an Event
2. Hire Brand Ambassadors
One idea I have for media exposure is to stage an event for publicity. This would be an effective choice because one of the main reasons the CAPS program isn’t more popular is because people don’t know it exists. If we held an event on campus or somewhere near campus, it could increase knowledge of the organization which could in turn bolster engagement of the program. If we held an event, we could hold a contest or have games at the event which would incentivize more people to attend. If a good amount of people attended and were intrigued at the information, they would potentially increase knowledge of the program by word of mouth.
"An event could increase knowledge and bolster engagement in the organization."
Another Idea I have for media exposure is having brand ambassadors. I think this is an effective choice because if someone associates the CAPS program with someone they like and/or look up to, they are more likely to participate in the program as well. I think asking popular professors on campus to be brand ambassadors would be beneficial because students like them and interact with them on a regular basis. Asking students who already participate in the CAPS program to be brand ambassadors could also be beneficial because if the people they associate with see that they are involved with this organization they may want to participate as well to support their friend or because they value their friend’s opinions and are willing to try things the brand ambassador endorse.
